(It’s raining, and dark outside. My car has been suffering from months of expensive car problems. My boyfriend has decided out of stress and exasperation, that he will have a look at the car himself. He eventually pokes his head in the door with a big smile on his face.)

Me: “Is it fixed?”

(He nods his head.)

Me: “Are you tearing up?”

(He shakes head unconvincingly.)

Me: “Are you trying not to blow all the man points you earned from fixing my car in the rain, in the dark?”
